It will also give you some benefits like avoiding replacement costs and avoiding to erase the memories you have had with the sofa, from late-night movie dates to family bonding time. Here, we provide you the tips on how to make your sofa new and beautiful again.

1.Replace the legs

One of the easiest and most doable of replacement you can have with your sofa, without replacing the whole material, is replacing its legs. In this way, you can personalize the designs that could match your present fashion and house design. Do you want to make your old soda to look modern? Or do you want it more customized? Just add some legs to it.

There are a lot of replacement legs available in different stores, and each store can have variations of styles and sizes. You can try checking these stores and pick the ones you like.

2. Put on a slipcover

When your sofa is still sturdy but does not have that new look anymore. You can just buy and put on a slipcover. This is the easiest way to change the sofa’s fabric without removing and replacing the entire sofa’s fabric. In this way, you can also choose from a variety of designs and styles.

To make it even more personalized, you can make and sew your own slipcovers.

3.Reupholster the sofa

If you want a long-lasting effect, you can remove the entire fabric and reupholster the sofa. In this way, you can save because it just needs a little fabric. However, to avoid damage, make sure the fabric is durable enough. You can also pain the wood frame and clean the entire sofa before putting on the new upholstery.

4. Bring the fluff back into your sofa

Your sofa will sag over time due to the weights it needs to carry. This is an easy fix. All you need to do is to take off the seat cushions and place a piece of strong plywood that fits the area. The plywood would act as a support to the cushions to prevent sagging.

5. Remove unwanted odor

Of course, when it looks new, it also needs to smell new. Over time, your sofa will emit a bad odor due to overuse. For fabric sofas, you can sprinkle some baking soda and let it sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour. The baking soda will remove the bad odors without affecting your fabric’s colors. Baking soda also removes unnecessary stains from your sofas.
